State of the Union faact checked...

I love factcheck.org! Here is the summary of the State of the Union, see link for full analysis or for the democrats response fact checked.

Summary

We found some puffery in President Bush's State of the Union address. He proposed a 20 per cent cut in gasoline use, which turns out to be only an 11 per cent decrease from current levels. The President claimed to have cut the federal deficit in half, which hasn't quite happened yet. He trumpeted the 7.2 million jobs created since the worst of the 2003 job slump, ignoring the 2.7 million jobs lost during the first part of his tenure. And once again Bush spoke of "energy independence," though the nation's dependence on imported oil has grown steadily since Bush took office despite all the talk and enactment of his energy legislation.

The gas cut use doesn't seem right, but I don't know where he got his figures from.

Why should he have to mention the job loss from 4 years ago due to the recession? He was purposely trying to explain the job growth.

Our nation is growing on our dependence of oil, that happens with increased industry and population. That doesn't mean he can't speak to try to limit energy independence.

Factcheck.org used to just be a fact-checking site. But lately they've been adding their personal opinion to how things should be said and I don't like that.

They still give you just the facts in the left column and the opinion is on the right. Their facts are still sound no matter which party they are proving wrong.

I agree they have good facts, but I liked them better when the commentary wasn't biased.
