Food stamps are as good as money. Everyone has to eat. It's free money to buy food.

And public assistance housing is a joke. They can afford it out of their welfare.

We have a local radio station in NJ where they complain about illegals and people living off welfare. They actually get people to call in and brag about how they're fucking over the system and how great their life is not having to work. You can bust the "myth" all you want, but I've personally heard hundreds of stories from NJ of people bragging about how they're getting over the system and how they do it.

What is it that illegal immigrants do so well that poor Americans can't? (besides feel entitlement to things they never worked for)

Except it's not a choice between welfare and starving. No human would starve with his thumb up his ass. If people are hungry, they'll rob and steal. It's about survival. So I'd also rather spend 2K a year on these people. Prison and crime would ultimately cost more.

What federal program gives money to single males w/o kids who don't have a job?

I've heard people brag about ripping off every single government program thats running, including the military, $10,000 hammers anyone?

Welfare is less than 1% of the budget, and more than 95% of it goes to the right people...there are more pressing issues, and if you want less fraud you need to hire more monitors that cost more money, but its such paltry fraud in the scheme of pork to bridges to nowhere and the iraq war that its penny-counting and fake outrage

switching to cards is a great idea. I'll give a good reason via personal story.

My dad owns a couple carwashes and one of them is in the ghetto, prime real estate to find those who get food stamps. They will take their food stamps and sell them for 1/2 of face value. If they get $300 in food stamps, they will sell them for $150 cash and buy coke with it.
