Still mad that Al goes around spreading his message? A message that happens to be correct, BTW? Y'all must be very happy that he made a movie! Now his message can be spread without burning fossil fuels, which I'm sure that you're all very concerned about. :rollseyes:

Gosh, you guys sneer at war medals, now you sneer at peace prizes. Make up your mind.

Al Gore was trying to bring attention to global warming for decades. He was decades ahead of his time, and the science continues to prove him right. He championed this cause for many years when there was no political benifit to be had. Most of you still deride him for it. Too damn bad for you that he was right all along.

World history took a sorry turn when the activist judges in the Supreme Court made a federal intervention on a state issue and halted the Florida recount in 2000. Al Gore is a man. George W. Bush is a boy. Both of their actions in life provide ample proof.

I fucking hate people who think Gore won in 2000. Yes it turns out he would have carried the county, and so the country, but the electoral laws were set up in a way that made the courts decide, it wasn't "federal intervention"

You can't argue with the fact the constitution lets each state make its own election laws.

You're in the minority? I think most folsk view him as overthe top hell even the dems here at work with only two exceptions think he is over the top.

Well it is a bit pessimistic to think civilization will die off due to global warming, however the earth is warming right now. Average global temperatures are increasing.

I think he deserves it, he has been working on this issue for over 2 decades.

I found out something interesting I didn't know when I googled for his 88 campaign:

Not true, I don't remember a word from Al Gore until it got popular in the 90's. Before that it was deforestation, Acid Rain panic, Nuclear Meltdown to the Earths core, Milar in Apples, endangered species from development, and the real polution from exhaust, not CO2 and not global warming. And "the sky is falling" can be traced as far back as the 50's although most of that was a new Ice age.

It is the ultimate in Liberal handout. Set up by a man who felt guilty over the invention of dynamite. What does Global Warming have to do with Peace anyway? Why not one of the science prizes eh? Not up to the standards?

Sounds good to me. Even if you disagree with global warming, becoming more energy independent, efficient, and cutting down on pollution is good for humanity.

or maybe the real issue is that conservative politicians have a problem with global warming because its implications will negatively affect the bottom lines of their main campaign sponsors. It's only natural to assume they'll put out all kinds of propaganda to debunk it. The real question you should ask yourself is what ulterior motive do these scientists have for lying if that's what you think they're doing.
