| I am travelling to China this September to look for government funding -- a specific project of mine demands their attention. An alternative fuel source based on quantum mechanical properties, to provide an energy for it's growing (massively and with astonishing velocity) population, this new class of people who want to live exactly like we do. And with this planets oil reserves, 1.3 billion Chinese trying to live like 300 million Americans just isn't going to work. edit: @ Concept Will do! | Not suprising. It'll be interesting to watch as we continue anyway and then turn around and tell them they can't do anything with Taiwan (not that I think we should). That said, our plans to democratize other nations has been working so well, I can't imagine why anyone would be against our interference | ||||

| According to the Taiwan Relations Act, we do recognize Taiwan as a sovereign state, but: In order to trade with China, the United States had to approve of the 'One-China Policy' which means that basically there is one 'China' even through it in not limited to the People's Republic of China. So yeah and no | ||||

| There's been no confirmation that Fidel is alive, and Cuba is currently releasing highlights of Raul Castro's role in the Revolution. also, from CNN: "The government said it would defend itself against any U.S. attempts to take advantage of Castro's health crisis after President Bush urged Cubans to push for democratic change." and later in the article concerning Raul Castro: "Some Cuban exiles, meanwhile, wanted Bush to go further than rallying people on the island to push for democracy. William Sanchez, an attorney for the Cuban American National Foundation, urged the president to tell Cuba to set an elections timetable, and to let Cuban-Americans go to the island by boat to help with a political transition. U.S. policy requires halting such "flotillas" before they enter Cuban waters." o_O | ||||
