Personally, I think it's indoctrination just like the Taliban, they are committing child abuse by American standards (not legally but...you know what I mean)

It's an army of children to be soldiers of God, I think the only thing stopping those kids from strapping bombs to themselves, or moving towards that in their late teenage years, is that there's no target that would help their cause

Children in Hebron and Gaza have the same experience, just some names switched around, and they feel if they blow up enough Jews, maybe their friends and God will have a better world for his muslim community, in Pakistan/Afghanistan, children are brainwashed to believe that killing infidels will praise God and show their love for him

I don't believe the BS about this being some small radical example, there are some 7 million pentecostals, and 80 million evangelicals...40 million who are "born again" before they are 13...fucking a

I felt a great sadness for the children, all that crying and personal guilt, and Levi is smart as a whip, just brainwashed, he'd make a remarkable public servant, but he's going to end up being a radical firebrand

I feel both shocked and outraged, but at least I know where that 28% who still support Bush comes from...or the bulk of evolution skeptics, global warming skeptics, etc

I watched this back when it came out.. While I have a strong feeling that parents should be able to raise their kids pretty much how they please, what was shown in this video is indeed blatant brainwashing. Once they hit their mid/late teens, many of these kids will have serious problems reconciling what they were programmed to believe with life experience. It's ok for parents to teach their kids about their faith, but they must be left free enough to come to believe in or reject it on their own terms, when they are ready. Is this not religious liberty in its purest form?

Didn't Jesus himself say that one must choose to accept god of his own volition? I'm not sure the programming done at this camp qualifies as that.

Oh shit, I agree with thorgrim This is definately indoctrination...however since they're not teaching their children to kill is it really anyone's place to tell them how to raise their kids? I'd have mixed feelings on that...

As for how rare this stuff is, its pretty damn rare. I grew up in a staunchly christian home, went to bible school every summer and all that stuff and we never did any of that crap.

I disagree with how rare you think it is...40 million people born again before they are 13...how many people did you know like that? 40 million is a huge voting bloc...they could run our country

It is definitely indoctrination, my wife and I watched this yesterday. To see "mass hysteria" as I refer to it, by which I mean a large group collectively can influence the mind (re: kids crying and such) really scares me.

Also, the references to "Soldiers of God" and having kids in camo face paint show more evidence of this. Having them say they would die for their religion only shows that they're only a step away from being the compliment of radical Islam.

If this is actually a growing trend as stated in the film, I really worry about a large-scale religious war panning out.

Those people.....that's my MOTHER.

My Mom could have scripted this. And she's nuts.

That ceremony at the beginning is derived from the Celts, knowingly or not. It is scary how people took those beliefs, where every person was a shaman and a student, and perverted them.

Some of the lines like "we can use them" and "way to be obedient" were telling as well. Then when the kids were praying. like 26 minutes in, they had an Israeli flag with a US flag. Someone should tell them if them and their parents were to head over to Israel to hand out their little pamphlets they could be put in prison.

The lady at the beginning, whom I got a real twisted vibe from, was also scary as Hell. Why would you ever want to train your children to be like a young suicide bomber from Pakistan? "In the name of Jesus no microphone problems" lol I also didn't know that Nestle bottled water had such powerful attributes, almost straight out of a Harry Potter novel I'm telling ya If only Harry could break cups to destroy his enemies....

All these kids seem to keep saying how evil the world is and how sick it is; a toxic mind can only perceive the world in a toxic way. They actually, at one point, take out a paper caricature of George Bush and start talking to him and praying to him. That really blew my mind because Bush is anything but a Christian, an admitted attendee of Bohemian Grove. But then again, religion to elite Judas Goats like that is more of a means to an end than the end itself. That was only topped, perhaps, by the appearance of under-cover Homosexual and meth user: Ted Haggard.

It was nice to see all those people caring for their kids and that sense of community though. But it is sad to see all those things and all that energy taken and used towards violence, which seems what the lady(Becky) is ultimately and openly calling for not once but numerous times in the film. And at the end Becky openly admits she's brainwashing kids and wants to destroy democracy and that she doesn't want everyone equal. It might as well have been satan taking out his big scaly pecker at that point.

But then again, this falls right in line with what the bible says, if you examine it without the blinders. It is open about man being created to "toil the fields" for gods or correctly translated, Elohim, which is the gods. Even in the versions we have today, god is mentioned as "gods" numerous times. It's great(not really) to see Becky working so hard to make that dream a reality, a bunch of ignorant slaves toiling the fields with no free will and no self-rule.

**great thread btw

Not really.

While a lot of Muslim, Jewish, and Palestinian schools advocate killing others in defense of your faith, the vast majority of Christian schools do not teach that. "Dying for your faith" in the proper Biblical context means that if you had a choice between death and renouncing your faith, that you would choose death glady than reject your Lord. It has NOTHING to do with killing others that hate your faith.

While there have been numerous cases of Christians killing others for that reason (Crusades, etc), most of that was hundreds of years ago. Sadly, for the Middle East, those people still fight with that viewpoint.
