I have seen many of the "conspiracy theories" about freemasonry and it's influence on our gov't. But would love to hear from those who know a thing or two about it...anyone?...

| Just remember to ask yourself this question. Did the members become powerful BECAUSE of the organization. Or did the organization choose members that are more likely to become powerful. Everyone hears of the Presidents that are part of these secret socieites, but how often do they bring up the thousands of members that arent famous, that arent CEOs/President of banks etc.... | ||||

| Actually they are very big on promoting things like the free expression of ideas, open government, and promoting the public good. Thank them for that. Much of the secrecy is a hold over from a time in Europe when you had both the Church and various monarchies who were very big on the opression of what they considered revolutionary ideas about religion or government. The Boston Tea party was planned at a lodge. But you did not have to be a Freemason to be part of the Revolutionary leadership. And the only religious requirement is to profess a belief in God, not belong to any particular religion or any fromal at all. ![]() And yes, George Washington wore an apron!
