Would You Admit To It?

Would you admit to being a racist if you were truly racist?

Can a person be racist under these circumstances as described below?

The person, male or female, does not like being around people of other ethnic backgrounds. They person is very nervous around them and won't be around them if they can, and avoids them as much as they can. They are much more comfortable around people of their own ethnicity.

But here's the thing, the person is completgely against discrimination and would not discriminate against them, such as hiring one for an important position such as manager, and strives to end racial discrimination.

Is that person racist?

And would you admit to being racist if asked, not neccessarily accused?

Is this you ?

If it was more cultural than about the ethnicity - i think it is not racist to feel more comftable around people who you think are more like you.
If it was every race under the sun. That would be weird. If it is just 'Dark' or 'Light' people then it is a little rascist.

Anytime you are making a judgement based only on someone race it's racism.

No, I'm nervous around everybody until I warm up to them. Anxieties.

A bit harsh. I imagine it is a little lower than that. I think you maybe right about the % of people who felt uncomftable outside their ethnic grouping - but imho that is because some people do not mix if they did they would find the simmilaries and 'get on'. They imho would not be apposed to 'mixing' if they had had some experience.

When does looking after your "own kind" become racist?

It sounds more like a Limo liberal in denial of their own feelings about accepting others as just people? So they use their ideas about tolerance to compensate. They would force Afirmative Action and things like reparations on other people to make themsleves feel better but would not be caught dead in the kind of neighborhood they care so much about.

Is this all hypothetical or someone you know?

"own kind" would be racist.

You can put it in a nice house with curtains and it would still be racist. My only suggestion is that the left seems to have a certain tolerance level for it as long as white males are not involved.

My own kind? Well I have no problem with dumb people, any race of people, gay people, religious as long as they don't think they have a duty to convert or kill me. So the people I don't want to be around would be hypocrites who think they are in charge or running my life and everybody elses because they are so good natured and the rest of us are so selfish and dumb. I am not afraid to make judgements about people.
