| Newsflash: There is no life on Mars Chron.com | After 10 years, life-on-Mars rebuked
This is interesting because if there was life on Mars is shows that "we may not be alone". Even if it was only microscopic, it showed hope that life could have evolved on other planets within our Galaxy. Mars was our best hope for life on a planet in our solar system. It may not be within our lifetime that we're able to study far enough and reach other planets to begin searching for life.

| Ummm that was only a metorite. There could still very well be evidence of simple life on Mars. We still have a lot of exploring to do there. | ||||

| The soil is highly biologically and chemically active -- the Viking Lander did soil sample tests and found an anomalous amount of respiration taking place in the soil samples. Chemical or otherwise, Mars is nowhere close to dead and barren. It's used to be a martian body teeming with water -- for christ's sake. ![]() We need to get up there and melt those ice-caps! | ||||

And what biological feature on earth captures UV light? Biologically active Cannabis Sativa!!!
It's crystalline trichome structures of Tetra-hydracannabinol were evolved to shield the cannabis plant from UV light. And on top of that, by flora it is a weed and will grow anywhere under most conditions! With a little space-age genetic modification, we can lay out advanced strains of these UV capturing crystalline producing plants. On beds of coco-coir (compressed coconut husk) which expands 5 times it's volume when water is added, with excellent air circulation and water-retention properties. With these UV capturing weeds on beds of dark substrate. I would call my plan; "Project Terraform Hot Climate!" Last edited by Nonphixion; 08-05-2006 at 09:39 PM..

| I'm still hoping that we're going to be sending some humans to Mars.. not only would the scientific benefits and discoveries be amazing, but I bet we'd see a lot of new neat technology in the market place as a result. It's one of the few good ideas Bush has had, too bad this seems to be the one he doesn't mind cutting and running from. | ||||
